First edition of the foundational book for all the laws of Choshen Mishpat. Maran Rabbi Yosef Karo wrote the magnum opus Beit Yosef al HaArba Turim. In this work, he gathered all the sources of the halachahs and all the adjudicators and the words of the Poskim HaRishonim and the various opinions, and according to this conclusions in Beit Yosef, he authored the Shulchan Aruch. The Beit Yosef, who resided in Safed, sent the work to be printed with his emissary Rabbi Moshe Even Shoshan, as printed in the colophon: "And the third Tur was completed ... Friday, 4 Tammuz, 1553 by ... Cornelius Aidelkind ... dealt with at his press by the wise ... Moshe Even Shoshan from the city of Safed ..."
