Lengthy Letter Handwritten by the Pnei Menachem of Gur about the Gur Community in Ashdod

" ... a developing settlement initiated and supported by our rabbis, shlit"a, to spread the light of Torah in this delightful corner as well"

Lengthy and beautiful historic letter, entirely handwritten, signed and stamped by the Admo"r Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter, author of Pnei Menachem of Gur (during his tenure as the head of Yeshivat Sefat Emet). Jerusalem, 1979.

The letter was written for the establishment of Gur Chassidut in the southern development town of Ashdod, at the beginning of the drive to establish Torah institutions that would serve the Chassidic pioneers who moved to a city that was desolate from a spiritual perspective.

The letter was sent to Va'ad HaYeshivot B'Eretz Yisrael, and it discusses the establishment of a kollel in Ashdod that had to receive official recognition. The Pnei Menachem summarizes the goal of the Gur settlement in Ashdod in this letter "initiated and supported by our rabbis, shlit"a, to spread the light of Torah in this delightful corner as well."

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Admo"r Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter.

[1] leaf paper, 26x21 cm. The entire letter is handwritten and signed by him.
