Chamishah Chumshei Torah with a French translation and commentary, with many comments in French in the margins of the pages. With haftarot. Paris, published by Drulcher. 1860-1869. First edition.
The translator and commentator, Rabbi Elazar Weg, a rabbi in Paris and one of the leaders of Le Séminaire Israélite de France, signed his name by hand on the back of the first title page of Chumash Bereishit.
Lengthy introduction in French at the beginning of Chumash Bereishit. With French-language approbations. A picture appears before the title page of each part.
Printing this important work took ten years, and it was an important event for French Jewry.
