Maariv Newspaper, reporting the Israel-Egypt peace treaty - 1979
The "Maariv" newspaper of 27/3/79 reporting the signing of the peace treaty with Egypt [the day after it was signed].
The word "Shalom" on the title page was designed by Dovid ben Hador and it merges the word in three languages: Hebrew, Arabic and English. The headline is also printed in these three languages. It features a picture of a kipa-wearing Menachem Begin during his speech along with a transcript of the speech; a copy of the agreement; other photos from the event and the joy in Israel ["70,000 celebrated at the Malchei Yisrael intersection"]; reports regarding events that occurred behind the scenes ["Jehan Sadat and Aliza Begin with the president of Egypt between them"] and more.
