The "El-Al" Airline, A Large Collection of Items - Both Paper and Not

A large and important collection of some 280 paper items and other items connected to the "El-Al" airline. 

* Paper items produced by El-Al and about El-Al: excerpts from newspapers about El-Al [the "HaBoker newspaper dated 15 Av 5715 (1955) announcing that the 58 casualties of the fatal Bulgarian attack against the El Al airplane will be brought to Israel and more], programs for a passenger, various booklets and publications [including a booklet in English explaining the concept of 'Kashrut', a booklet 'the theatre club presents: One leg in the air - various shows', a 'Studentours' booklet for students and more], maps, postal envelopes, postcards, advertising leaves, various new year greeting cards, bookmarks, posters, recipes, boarding cards and tickets [from different years in different formats], tourist guides for different places in the world, flight plans, Pesach Haggadahs, Wayfarers prayers, landing instructions for passengers in cases of emergency, cookery book, frequent flyer 'loyal flyer' tickets, an envelope from the day of issuance of the El Al stamp stamped from 1962 and more. 

Dozens of items produced by El Al with the words "El-Al" and the company's symbols: wallets, key-rings, a pouch for spare buttons for a shirt, matchboxes, sugar papers, wet wipes, packets of salt sugar and pepper never opened, clothes pins, various games: memory game [cards], jigsaw puzzle, construction games, board games, a packet of cards in the original box, Colgate toothpaste in a special box produced by El Al, diary, wallets, a pleasant relief designed by Yaakov Rekanati, buckles for a belt, pencil case, comb, metal teaspoon, large binder. 

The El Al airline was officially established in 1949, although the company's first flight was in September 1948, bringing President Chaim Weizmann from Geneva to Israel. The history of the El Al company accompanies the State's development from its establishment until this very day, in the large immigration operations, in flights of political and diplomatic importance, and by being the national airline. El Al  was part of several important historical events in the history of the State including: the first flight to Cairo (1980); the historic first flight to Moscow (January 1990); flying a record number of 1087 passengers in a Boeing 747 airplane - immigrants from Addis Ababa - as part of the "Operation Solomon" operation to fly all Ethiopian Jews to Israel (May 1991); the first flight to Amman (June 1996); in 2001, after the terrorist attacks of September 11, El Al was the first airline allowed to fly in the USA (two days before the other airlines). 

Sizes and conditions vary. Most of the items are in fine-very fine condition. Some of the items appear in several items.
