Nofet Tzufim, Iraq [Baghdad, 1879]. With Author's Dedication
Nofet Tzufim on the Torah by Rabbi Shlomo Tavina, Iraq [Baghdad, 1879]. The endpaper bears a lengthy inscription by the author to Suleman Tzalach Sasson.
Work on Genesis [no other sections were printed] by Rabbi Shlomo son of Abed Tavina, rabbi and leader of the Iraqi Jews in Calcutta.
The author was born in Baghdad in [1855]. As a young man, he studied under Rabbi Abdullah Somech. He moved to India in 1880 and passed away in [1913]. He authored many books, and often signed his name with the initials שע"ה - an acrostic for Shlomo Eved Hash-m [Shlomo Hash-m's servant].
