Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer (5630–5714 [1870–1954]) was one of the great Torah luminaries of his generation. He served as the Rav and Rosh Yeshiva of Slutsk, later immigrating to Eretz Yisrael, where he became Rosh Yeshiva of Etz Chaim and Chairman of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah. He was one of the greatest Torah educators of our time, with many of Israel's leading sages counted among his students.
