Large Volume – Sefer Mitzvot Gadol, Two Parts, by Rabbeinu Moshe of Coucy. Kapust, 1807.
With the commentary Amudei Shlomo by Rabbeinu Maharshal and, for the first time, glosses by the Gaon Rabbi Heschel of Kraków.
On the back of the title page, several important approbations, including those of the Defender of Israel, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, and Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin.
As is known, some books from Russian-Polish printings feature variations in the included approbations. In some copies, the Hasidic approbations appear, while in others, the Litvish approbations are found. Some speculate that these differences stem from the Hasidim vs. Misnagdim controversy.
In this book, side by side, appear the approbations of two towering figures, leaders of their respective movements.
