Wedding Invitation with Handwritten Note and Signature of the Shomrei Emunim Rebbe to the Yeshuot Moshe of Vizhnitz

A wedding invitation for the daughter of Rebbe Avraham Chaim Roth of Bergsas, the Rebbe of Shomrei Emunim.

On the back of the invitation, there is a handwritten letter and signature from Rebbe Avraham Chaim Roth of Shomrei Emunim, addressed to the Yeshuot Moshe of Vizhnitz, inviting him to participate in the joyous occasion. The Rebbe writes:

"I take honor in personally inviting Your Honor, Shlita, to take part in our joyous occasion on the wedding day of my daughter, may she live... May it be His will that we merit to rejoice in the joy of Israel, to hear in the cities of Judah and the courtyards of Jerusalem the voice of joy... with the return of Zion in mercy, speedily in our days. Your holy friend, with abundant love and blessings, longing for Hashem’s salvation, Avraham Chaim Roth".

Rebbe Avraham Chaim Roth (1924–2012) was the first Rebbe of the Shomrei Emunim dynasty, son of Rebbe Aharon Roth, author of Shomrei Emunim. He married the daughter of Rebbe Mordechai Goldman of Zvill. In his early years of leadership, he was known as the Rebbe of Bergsas, after his birthplace.

In 1960 (5720), he established Kiryat Shomrei Emunim in the Mea Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem, where he founded a Talmud Torah, a large yeshiva, and a yeshiva for younger students. Later, he relocated the center of his Hasidic court to Bnei Brak, while spending the months of Elul and Tishrei in Jerusalem. During the winter and summer, he would reside in Tifrach.

After 66 years of Hasidic leadership, he passed away in 2012 (5772) on Isru Chag Shavuot, and was buried the next day in the Shomrei Emunim Rebbe’s section of the Mount of Olives Cemetery in Jerusalem.

He was renowned for his piety, righteousness, and long, devout prayers that would last for many hours.
