Kedushat Yom Tov – Sighet, 5665 [1905]. Two Parts. First Edition.

Kedushat Yom Tov, in two parts: Commentary on the Torah and Kedusha Shniya on Rosh Hashanah and the Yamim Tovim, by the Admor Rabbi Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Teitelbaum, Av Beit Din of Sighet. Máramaros-Sighet, 5665 [1905]. First edition.

With an introduction by the author’s sons—the Admor Rabbi Chaim Tzvi, author of Atzei Chaim, and his brother, Rabbi Yoel of Satmar.

The bibliographer N. Ben-Menahem, in his work M'Sifrut Yisrael B'Ungaria, cites an intriguing report: this book was originally printed in an earlier edition, but after it was discovered that the typesetting had been done by workers who desecrated Shabbat, the entire first print run was burned, making this the actual second edition.

[2], 137 leaves; 65 leaves. 24 cm.

Good condition. Some wear and tears at the margins of the first pages and a few additional leaves. Creases in the final pages. Stains. Well-preserved binding.
