Sefer Chasdei David – A Comprehensive and Fundamental Commentary on the Tosefta, by Rabbi David Pardo. Livorno, Part I. 5536-5537 [1776-1777]. First Edition, Published in the Author’s Lifetime
.

This is the first extensive commentary ever written on the Tosefta.

The Chasdei David commentary, which is commonly printed in the margins of the Tosefta editions found in standard Talmud sets, is actually an abridgment of the full commentary presented here.

The first two parts were printed in Livorno during the author’s lifetime, while the third part was printed in Jerusalem approximately a century after his passing.

The first volume before us includes approbations from leading Torah figures, including:

Rabbi Yom Tov Algazi (Mahari"T Algazi)
Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Azulai (the Chida), who later became his son-in-law
Other notable scholars
Stefansky, Sifrei Yesod 106.
