Orim VeTumim by Rabbi Meir Arama. Venice, 1603. First Edition
Orim VeTumim – Commentary on the Books of Prophets Yeshayahu and Yirmiyahu, by Rabbi Meir Arama. Venice, 1603.

In the introduction, the publisher Rabbi Menachem Yaakov Ashkenazi writes of the present work: “And this book was presented to me, and from elsewhere a faithful man reached out with great wonder, providing me with the paper and funds, such that it was for me like the miracle of creation—making something from nothing.”

Rabbi Meir Arama (ca. 1420–1522), son of Rabbi Yitzchak Arama, author of Akeidat Yitzchak, served as a rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva in Escosta–Saragossa, and was among the exiles of Spain. He later settled in Naples and then in Salonika, where he became rabbi of the Aragonese community. Among his works are Meir Iyov, Meir Tehillot, and others.

In this work, the author criticizes Rabbi Yitzchak Abarbanel for quoting parts of Akeidat Yitzchak, his father's work, without citation.

Rabbi Yosef Karo, author of the Beit Yosef, quotes a halachic ruling in his name, writing, “And his words found favor in my eyes” (Orach Chaim 686).
