Set of machzors for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur, and for the three pilgrimage festivals, per the Sfard custom. Printed by the partners, grandsons of the rabbi of Slavuta, Rabbis Chanina Lipa and Yehoshua Heschel Shapira. 1865.
Beautiful set of machzorim printed in sanctity by the rabbis of the Shapira family of Slavuta. With pictures of the Zodiac in the prayers for rain and for dew.
Part I, for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur: 154 leaves.
Part II, for the three pilgrimage festivals: 133 [actually 137 leaves, the last leaf is mistakenly marked 133, but it should be 137].
Part I: 27.5 cm. Moderate condition. Dismantled binding. Lacking part of the title page. Blemishes on both of the last leaves. Stickers and reinforcements. Minimal aging stains.
Part II: 29 cm. Fine condition. Original leather binding, chafed. Minimal aging stains. Several leaves are detached.
