Eastern European Jews during the First World War

Four rare postcards of Eastern European Jews in Jewish towns, during the First World War.

* A family from Bialystok at the entrance of their home. Greetings on the back of the postcard.

* Jews on a carriage in the market in Lodz. Sent by mail in 1917.

* A Jewish street in an Eastern European town, to the right and to the left the wooden huts.

* Ukrainian Jews in the market. 1919. On the back of the postcard appears a printed inscription describing that in the cities and towns of Ukraine trade is conducted exclusively by Jews, because the Ukrainians themselves are only engaged in agriculture.

From Willy Lindwer collection.

Same size: 9x14 cm. Very good condition.
