3,000 years ago, King David captured Jerusalem from the Jebusites. The "City of David" was established on the "Shoulder of the Hibbosi" above the Shiloh spring. It was surrounded on three sides by deep ravines, and above it, on the north side, rose the Temple Mount. David made Jerusalem the capital of the Kingdom of Israel. For the first time, all the kingdom's institutions and powers, political and spiritual, were concentrated in one place and in one hand. His son Solomon completed the work and built the Temple on the Temple Mount. Many peoples ruled Jerusalem, but more than conquering it - they were conquered by it.
Even today, Jerusalem ignites the imagination of millions of people in the world, and everyone has a part in it. Jerusalem's thousands of years have solidified and placed layer upon layer, but neither has it overshadowed the initial essence that was forged in the City of David - the Eternal City.
The face of the medal: a panorama of the old and new Jerusalem and in the center the inscription "3000 Jerusalem City of David". In the upper part, along the perimeter, the inscription "Jerusalem City of David" as well as the wording in Arabic.
The back of the medal: a mosaic of King David from the ancient synagogue in Gaza and below it, along the perimeter, the inscription "House of David" in ancient Hebrew taken from a stone tablet from the ninth century B.C. On the left, along the perimeter, the verse "And he shall call it the City of David" and the original "Smuel II." On the right
Scope: State symbol, on the right "State of Israel", on the left "STATE OF ISRAEL" and the number of the medal.
Numbering: All medals are numbered, gold medals are numbered from 1 to 2000
