Chinese White & Brown 'Fruit Bat & Gourd' Jade Carving, Qing Dynasty
18th/19th century, Qing Dynasty 1644-1911 in excellent and well aged condition carved from a natural white and brown jade into a pendant to show the beauty of the natural stone. The white jade gourd's and brown jade fruit bat carved from the same stone show how an inclusion can be rendered a beautiful component of the higher quality white jade stone. This piece shows age particularly well and is well worn. This piece also includes an original label from Hong Kong with a stamped wax seal pressed by the Hong Kong Export Association. 2 1/8"W
Wong collection, Los Angeles, CA, US, Mr. Wong was a Hong Kong government translator and court interpreter and amassed his collection in Hong Kong during the mid-1900's-1978.
