Western Asiatic Painted Ram Vessel
1st millennium AD
A ceramic aquamanile formed as a standing caprid with head on a long arched neck, painted linear detailing to the flanks and chest, hollowed eyes, filling tube behind the shoulders with strap handle from the rim, spout to the chest, two stub legs to the rear. 917 grams, 19cm (7 1/2"). Fine condition. Scarce.
